By
day, Joe Giaquinto is a computer guy—at night and on weekends, he is a
psychic-medium and ghost
hunter. He has experienced otherworldly phenomena in and around New York
City and Long Island for over forty years.
His first official ghostly encounter occurred in upstate New York,
when he unknowingly moved into a haunted boarding house. Over the years
that followed and his many encounters with the paranormal, he discovered
the gift of mediumship and used this ability to enhance the
quality
of evidence gathered during paranormal investigations.
Today, Joe conducts individual and group readings to bring comfort to
people who have lost loved ones and wish to know there is a
continuation of life after physical death. He also gives workshops and talks
on a host of spiritual and paranormal topics.
Joe Giaquinto graduated from Adelphi University, Magna Cum Laude with
a degree in Broadcast Communications. He runs a freelance computer consulting
and website design business and is also a licensed airplane pilot.
His professional memberships, past and present, include the American
Society for Psychical Research (ASPR), Association TransCommunication (AAEVP),
Forever Family Foundation, Board of Directors—Hampton Bays Historical Society,
First Parish Church Spiritual Renewal Center, East End Arts Council and
the Southampton Artists Association. Joe owns the Ghost Hunters of Long
Island—a paranormal research team. He specializes in spirit photography
and Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVPs—the recorded voices of spirits.)
Joe's investigations have included both private homes and businesses
as well as Gold Coast mansions and landmark properties, including
Sagamore Hill, Sagtikos Manor, Oheka Castle, Hempstead Castle, Raynham
Hall and Vanderbilt Mansion.
Joe has collaborated on several research projects, including three books
on ghosts—Ghosts of Long Island I & II, and Historic Haunts of Long Island—and a TV show pilot with author and historian Kerriann Flanagan
Brosky. He has appeared on local cable TV including Public Access-Channel
20 (the Janet Russell and Phoenix Rising shows), Easthampton LTV, Laura Savini’s Ticket Show on Channel 21, News12–Long Island, Channel 55 and Plum

at Q104 in NYC, with Pamela Marie Edmunds, and with Joy and Diane on Angel
